About Me, the Author

About Jerianne

Personal History

I've lived in Tennessee for all 24 years of my life. I grew up in a small rural farming town where I was related to nearly one half of the county and knew the other half. I graduated high school with an honors diploma and then attended the local community college in my hometown for my Associate degree in English.

One year into college, I married my high school sweetheart. Nearly a year later, I joined The Church of Jesus of Christ of Latter-day Saints after my now husband introduced me to it. However, I'm still very much Southern Baptist at heart, since that was the denomination I was raised in and formed the strong foundation of Christian faith that I am still building on today.

A year and a half into our marriage, my husband and I moved to what we considered a big town, still in Tennessee. We moved to attend another university located in the beautiful mountains of East Tennessee. In three years, I graduated with a Bachelor degree in English and two minors -- creative writing and linguistics. I also earned a specialization in technical writing. The goal of gaining these degrees was to give me the skills I would need to fulfill my dream of becoming an author. I am currently working on a couple of novel ideas and hope to establish a writing schedule so I can make even more progress.

Just after graduation, we moved into our first home, located in Tennessee's oldest town. We're still living in Appalachia and have an amazing view of the mountains from our back windows. Life finds us married for five years now and as expectant parents to our first child, a boy. Our precious Little One is due in October.

I'm learning about this thing called life and transitioning from being a full-time student to a full-time wife and mother. I'm excited about this stage of my life, as I have spent the past five years dreaming of reaching this very point in life.

  • I love to cook and bake.
  • Crafting is one of my things, something I have inherited from my mother.

  • I love to scrapbook.
  • I listen to all kinds of music, ranging from Christian rock, new age, jazz, and folk music, to hard rock, metal and alternative rock. Surprisingly, the only thing I don't really listen to is country music.
